The Carter brothers continue this philosophy as the firm grows its service footprint beyond the Southeast.
Deeply rooted in Asheville, North Carolina, the firm was originally founded in 1975 by T. Ladd Painter as a sole practitioner providing audit and tax services. The next few decades produced significant growth, with clients that have remained with the firm to present day.
The foundation, vision, and leadership that both Ladd Painter and Charles Russell laid for many years led to their retirement in 2011. At this time the firm was purchased by brothers Richard Carter and Rob Carter and renamed Carter, P.C. Both Ladd and Charles have remained associated with the firm.
With a dedication to top-notch client service, a decade later Carter, P.C. serves clients throughout the Southeast with offices in Asheville NC, Charlotte NC, and Greenville SC.
