The Tax Team
If you were caught off guard last year by reduced federal income tax withholding due to tax reform, and did not make any changes to your withholding in 2020, there’s still time to make an adjustment (and request your employer to make a lump-sum withholding) to bolster your 2020 payments. Amounts paid through withholding are considered paid timely, and work to reduce underpayment penalties.
